We celebrated my mother in laws 70th in the private dining room. It's exquisite, a really brilliant addition to what was already a great restaurant. We had the afternoon tea and it's lovely. There is a ladies and a gentleman version, this has mini fish and chips and a pork pie, the ladies is more traditional. There is plenty of food, and it's beautifully presented. The service was brilliant, being in a private room, it's easy to be forgotten but we weren't, were offered drinks several times and nothing was too much trouble. My son had the kids afternoon tea but doesn't like ice cream, marshmallows or chocolate milk, the replacements were perfect. This room is gorgeous for up to 20 and a real treat. I will definitely use it again.
Wickentree Restaurant at Housing Units has become our 'go to' for meeting up with friends, work colleagues and family. When family from 'down south' and the Caribbean come to stay in Manchester their special request is to have lunch at HU.Barbara and Elaine are amongst two of the best ambassadors for service and welcome at the Wictkentree Restaurant - they are lovely, offering exemplary customer service that makes the dining experience so special!Sunday lunch was great - Thank you!
We have attended a family baby shower in the private dining room at the Wickentree today and all I can say is wow. From my initial conversation with one of the managers Daryl to the end of our stay it was absolutely perfect. The staff could not have been more accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and they fulfilled all my requests and more. The food was excellent, service and professionalism first rate, the room is gorgeous and I would highly highly recommend it to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion. We pre-ordered our food and it arrived early and everybody commented on how much they enjoyed their food and we covered a wide spectrum with our order, from children's fish and chips, sandwiches and afternoon tea, all were excellent. The management of Housing Units should be proud of what they have created here and the staff in the restaurant, we will return.
Dont visit if you have an Allergy as they will mock you and Have a nick name for you next time you call . Jodie writes Nicknames for people on your order when she goes in the Back.she is Backed up by the management as they are all Drinking Buddies and All laugh together .If they dont like you they will have a name for you
We've been eating here for a long time, spending hours in the shop and treating ourselves each time.It has an interesting and varied menu which is a little more expensive than other similar establishments.Their fish and chips used to be to rave over and they still lay claim for their 'famous fish and chips' Unfortunately, they fame is going to be for the wrong reasons as the last one I had was swimming in grease and more thick batter than fish. When I pointed it out to a member of staff she promised to tell the chef......[Full review]
I always treat my mum to lunch here we have the chicken salad which is always amazing. As well as the jafa orange cake. We try and go at least once a month. We love the food here.
Ok, its just lettuce, chicken breast, bacon, anchovies etc etc so the presentation and quality of the ingredients is important and in this respect the dish that was served was exceptional and probably
Not wanting to be over faced we chose a roast pork sandwich from the special board. What a surprise at what was presented the sandwich came with stuffing apple sauce roast potatoes and gravy, and what
So disappointed to receive a pork sandwich which failed to impress. I am going to be super critical because I was already on a downer from not getting the pork dinner I thought I was getting - so apologies
My husband had the gentleman's afternoon tea which consisted of mini pork pie, beef and Yorkshire pudding fish and chips, ham sandwich, and cake and mini scone with jam and cream. I had the Bedford afternoon
My Grandma thoroughly enjoyed her steak sandwich with fries and the wine we had alongside our meal was equally of great quality. Will definitely be visiting again when I come back to visit!
The fresh salmon sandwich was delightful and we chose a glass of prosecco to accompany the meal. Well worth a trip.
Wife had cheese on toast and I had the best steak sandwich that I've had in a very long time. Lovely to have the piano playing gently in the background and also wonderful not to be harassed half way
Main courses we sampled were fish and chunky chips and steak sandwich in ciabatta bread with side salad. Everything was of excellent quality and all the staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient
It was delicious The prawns, smoked Salmon with dressings on Brown bread Drinks. Will definitely visit again It is such a friendly welcoming place.
At first, last week was horrified about some woman in the paper complaining she had allergies and was wrongly served a prawn and salmon sandwich. Having just checked the menu, as I'm sure I've eaten
Good service , food was good if pricey, fish & chips £11, pasta £9 total number £40 for 2 for 2 courses. Afternoon tea looked popular with other diners.
The drinks came the coffee was lovely and for a meal I ordered soup and a sandwich which was lovely and my mum had fish chips and mushy peas. She had a lovely time. Staff were great food was great
Our food was delicious and i can really recommend the chicken ceasar salad which was probably the best I have ever had. Cakes were to die for and the only downside was the price of the wine which at 6.20
Mains were a choice of 4 - Fish and chips, prawn and crayfish salad, minute steak or chicken club sandwich. We had the salad and fish and chips and both were delicious. Dessert was a choice of various,
