Went here recently for a family meal 4 adults and two children. The service was excellent but it always is. The food was prefect and all 6 of us enjoyed our meal. They have a good kids menu and the price was reasonable. Would definitely recommend eating here and we'll definitely be back
Great food in great surroundings.Perfect from start to finish in eveyway . We've been here before and will definitely be visiting again.
Our tour group had dinner here after a day of sightseeing. What a gorgeous place!! Right on the river--the large windows offering a great view!! Wine was included in our package. Good choices!! Started with the soup du jour- a spicy tomato. For my entree, the blackened salmon with mango & lime salsa. Delish!!! It came with a salad platethat could have been a meal in itself. Potato salad, pasta salad, couscous salad, cole slaw & greens. What a salad!! For dessert, the creme brulee with shortbread & vanilla ice cream. Outstanding meal, service & location!! Definitely recommend!!!
A large group of us had booked to have dinner in the restaurant. We had prebooked the date and time for weeks but upon arriving we were told that the restaurant was very busy and we would have to wait a while. That was fine, however, the wait ended up being almost an hour. When we were eventually shown to our table and presented with the menu it was disappointing to say the least. For such a well known and highly reviewed restaurant there were only 3 vegetarian options and upon enquiring to the waiting staff it became apparent that there were only two options in fact as one wasn't available. There were a couple of vegetarians within our group and they were given the choice of either curry or pasta, when there were lots of meat dishes. The food was served and many of the sides had been forgotten about and had to be reordered. For a meal that was booked for 8;30, we were not served dinner until after 10pm.Staff were friendly and courteous but the food really let the establishment down.
Timberquay is a good reliable restaurant that always delivers on food and service. The value for money is excellent and the location is ideal for anyone walking or cycling the Derry Greenway. Definitely recommend.
Don't miss the soup of the day, best house salad ever!! miss u all, see u next year! Your best Italian fans!
To go with it I had the house salad which consists of cous cous, coleslaw, potato salad and dressed lettuce, tomato and red onion. We had no complaints over the food or the service. On arriving we were
Nachos and Caesar salad were tasty starters, though the former were not bountiful when the beef was removed (vegetarian option!). Main courses and drinks served up by very pleasant waiter and waitress.
He took our order and I ordered Tandoori Chicken and a side of Caesar Salad. I again stated to him I had coeliac disease and to make sure the food was gluten free. I do this religiously when eating out.
I'd the chorizo chicken and I'd highly recommend it with the Caesar salad! It's in a beautiful area overlooking the foyle, it's modern and contemporary. Service fantastic! Am already arranging my next
When our meal arrived my starter was ok, my main meal was fish which was lovely but my house salad was very inadequate, I was very disappointed with it. Some people in our party had to send their meal
The chocolate cake was really good too. Very friendly staff.
Grt food and service waiting staff was fantastic especially donna will definitely be bk soon amazing deal 3 courses for £10 especially the chocolate fudge cake is to die for yum yum
I had the soup of the day which was tomato and chilli served with wheaten bread, chicken escalope with garlic chips and peppered sauce and hot chocolate fudge cake for dessert. The portions were very generous,

Best fish cakes I have eaten anywhere, large chunks of a variety of fish with excellent sides and heavenly desserts. Great views, good atmosphere.
I did try my luck by asking for ice-cream along with my chocolate fudge cake but was told due to it being a fixed menu that it was only served with fresh cream....I was blatantly trying it on for a laugh.
However the chocolate cake went down a treat. Coffee served with homemade shortbread biscuit was a nice touch. The service was friendly and prompt, we even had chef keith come to our table to enquire
Our mains choices ranged from steak, escalope of chicken, salmon, thai fishcakes to moroccan chicken, which I had. My moroccan chicken was delicious, really moist and flavoursome. Clean plates all round
Starter choice was limited but the butternut squash soup, fish cakes and chicken wings were all very tasty. There was a good range of mains to choose from but one negative is that many of them incurred
