We tried to get into this spoons, my husband had perfectly respectable blue Lacoste leather trainers on and he wouldn’t let him in! He had a blue beard! Rediculous rule! We went to another spoons and we were let in without any problem! Maybe spoons should review their professional standards of dress and appearance before being so judgemental!!!!! Fuming!!!!!!
I had arranged to meet my cousin here who was visiting from America. A few of us arrived before him and were having a drink. When he arrived he was refused entry by a female door person because he was wearing trainers. Along with my sister we went outside in order to ask the door person to make an exception. I made the mistake of mentioning, in a non-aggressive way, that there were already people inside wearing trainers. Her reaction was unbelievably aggressive and condescending. If I had not been with several other people who were halfway through a drink at the time I would have left. As it was we finished our drinks and went somewhere else. Whoever she is she needs to get over herself.
We are Expats who travelled to Manchester to celebrate our sons graduation, from overseas. Having drank and eat in the Moon under the water on Friday evening, as 3 people, we returned with as a family of 4 on Saturday night to eat and drink again at 6.45 pm.However, we were not allowed entry because my husband and son were wearing unsuitable footwear - yes can you believe - the dreaded trainers !! It did not matter that 70% of the customers in the bar was already wearing training - it’s just that there where too many trainers inside already!!I’m really not sure of what kind of trouble the bouncers, on the entrance, think that a father and mother in their early 50’s, celebrating their children’s educational success (both early 20’s) would cause? Like a lot of things in life, these days - Wetherspoons I think you have taken it too far and need to rethink!
A lot of purist 'real ale drinkers' sneer at Wetherspoon establishments, but I think they should be applauded. Not only do they preserve historical landmarks such as the Deansgate cinema, but they serve one of the most comprehensive ranges of real ales at affordable prices. On top of that the food they serve is a cut above the standard pub fare, again at reasonable prices. Traditional pubs and fashionable bars, leaning towards four and five pounds a pint have their place but for how long?
Refillable coffee and jacket spud with chilli and side salad. Tasty, filling and very reasonably priced, especially in a city centre location. Always busy but staff work tirelessly. Thanks for your hard work.
My fish and chips were really crisp and fresh and my husband’s steak pudding he thought was exceptional value. After a 2hour session in the apple store, this was a great venue to refresh our food and
How can mixed grill run out in a weatherspoon? And how is it that the chef seems to think that rare means raw and medium means shoesole. It takes three staff to put the food in the till, wich can not
Yesterday we went there at about 9.30pm to have pizza (with goat's cheese for myself and chicken and pulled pork for my husband). Then two side salads and two large glasses with merlot (250ml, 80 p extra
We dived into this place post night out at 11:58am as the birthday girl wanted an all day breakfast with hash brown and some crunchy buttery warm toast... After being unimpressed with her out-there
Definitely the worst egg Benedict I have had at Wetherspoons.
We ate a fantastic "Fish and Chips", it was delicious. Fish was fantastic and chips were big and very good (peas were sometimes uncooked). We liked it a lot and we will return. It is a fantastic location,
Little upset they were out of fish and chips. I was told that happens all the time
Another Wetherspoons, another large mixed grill... I popped in to the Moon Under Water with friends from work as we needed a quick and cheap meal. Like many city centre 'Spoons, this is an interesting
A tasty mixed grill and a pint cost £10.69 which I consider to be very good value. The staff are very courteous and the pub itself is well decorated and very clean. Pity some of the other city centre
I had the eggs Benedict which was lovely, and the others had a full English and it looked fab. The service was excellent, and very fast. Lovely latte too. Great prices.
Called in today for breakfast before we left Manchester, have been in a couple of the Weatherspoons and have the eggs Benedict and husband has full English. As usual very good value for money, staff pleasant.
We returned for breakfast the following morning and were served huge amounts of bacon/sausage/eggs/beans/hash browns/mushrooms/tomato and toast. £5 for a large breakfast and £1 for cappuccino - I would
Three had Philly Steak baguette with chips, One had scampi, One had chilli hot dog , one had pulled pork sandwich and one had chips with bacon/cheese. Every one of the meals were excellent and under
I had the BBQ pulled pork wrap as part of the deli meal deal together with my usual G & T. My lunch could not be faulted, it was lovely and so were the chips that came with it. My husband had the ham
Served until 12 noon, the breakfast menu was extensive, and excellent prices, £4.60 for a large full English, we had the breakfast wrap, which had sausage, bacon, egg, cheese and hash brown on it, really
