A regular sized filter coffee priced £2.55 and you get a cup of coffee, which would equate to about half a medium size coffee at Costa. And Costa would be more reasonably priced. Food prices are poor value for money too. Staff could have been more hospitable. First time there in over 3 years. Disappointed that I returned.
It is very popular and does excellent food.Everything we saw people eating around us looked great.I had really tasty soup and a roll and also a fresh well baked fruit scone with coffee. The only thing stopping me giving an excellent rating is that the coffee was very bitter and overly strong.I will have tea next time.
we walked into the restaurant the waitress told us to find a table and someone would come and take our order, we had our pick really because the area and number of tables is plentiful. The tables andchairs are comfortable and the restaurant has a nice warm atmosphere/ambience and although we never went into th children’s area it looked a lot nicer thanmany I know, a bit like wandering into a child’s fantasy with life sized animals and sculptures and a tv with children’s programmes playing, along with picnic bench seating. Back to our experience. I found the menu to be comprehensive and opted for a curry while John went for his favourite, gammon. We were both served with water when I had requested it , something I wish more places would do. I followed this request with an order for my usual latte and it too was perfect. The staff were so warm and friendly and took a pride in their jobs and that was so nice to see and experience! Following my very hot (spicy hot) curry I decided to go for dessert, unusual as I’m a Slimming World frequent flyer and so avoid dessert at all costs!! However not today, I was going to order a dessert and I was going to enjoy every bite!! And boy did I enjoy my desssert! I opted for a warm cookie with ice cream following discussion with the waitress who was quite patient and explained that this was a warm large cookie with proper vanilla ice cream! Oh it was to die for and even now I do not regret having it!
I think they forgot about uswaited ages for servicewe had to go and find a waitress to take our orderdespite it not being busy. Afternoon tea was nicemy daughters meal was wrong then to top it up was overchargeddont think ill be back in a hurry
Myself and my friend visited the restaurant for a catch up and we weren’t disappointed. The breakfast was delicious. I love a dippy egg and the egg I had on my wasn’t runny, so the member of staff happily brought me another onetheyhad a lovely selection of cakes but we couldn’t fit anymore in, as it’s a good sized breakfast, so next time we will do coffee and cake.
Slices of turkey and a Yorkshire pudding covered the mash the stuffing and the roast parsnip which were elbowing each other. My husband had the cod and chips. He found bones on the cod. He ate the
We had eggs Benedict and Eggs Royal and 2 teas for just under £18. This could be seen as pricey for lunch as competitors put on lunch deals 2 for £8 but all in all if it's just occasionally then it was
We all had the gentlemen's afternoon tea,a fresh made platter serving pies ,sandwiches with carved meat , scones and cheesecake accompanied by a pint of Peroni, my favourite . Would be lovely to see this
The mains are served with meat/Yorkshire pudding/mash and roast potato on the plate with the veg coming separately. On both occasions the veg was very 'al dente'. Views out are over the valley and are
Food was lovely, cheesecake especially nice.
We chose a variety of mains, jacket potatoes, fish and chips and a steak pie. The fish was beautiful and the chips excellent too. The potatoes were really good quality with plenty of filling and a very
It is a long time since I enjoyed fish and chips so much. The fish was succulent with a light ,delightful batter. Home made chips ,tartare sauce and mushy peas completed an excellent meal. The service
Other members of our groups enjoyed the Fish & Chips, also the Gammon, Egg & Chips etc. Please pay a visit - I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
Food was extremely good, I had cajun spiced salmon with pan fried potato's, asparagus, seasonal veg with a tomato sauce, my wife went for the steak and mustard mayo wrap, she was pleased she did not go
Excellent coffee and a very tasty salmon salad from an extensive menu. Reasonable prices considering the quality of the food. The garden centre has a great gift shop and there is an Avery round the
Eggs benedict is my favourite & they do not disappoint with theirs. Need lots of willpower if your a cake lover if you go here. Amazing choice!!! Tastes amazing too. Staff are lovely & friendly.
We got snickers brownie, chocolate orange brownie and Turkish delight cheesecake for dessert, all amazing, my Mam said it was the best cheese cake she has ever had! Fab place for kids too as they have
It has a surprising lunchtime range, including everything from eggs benedict, to freshly made pizza. The staff were friendly and helpful, give it a try.
It was delicious, the yorkshire pudding was lovely, unfortunately there was only one, the fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the meal so much, we decided to re-visit for tea to-day.
There are 3 salads on the menu but 2 are meat (if you can call black pudding meat) and the other is salmon so there is a limitation there. More variety in the vegetarian area would be an improvement. A
