Really nice meal. Recommend the special satay and curry. Very generous portions with lots of meat and seafood in each dish.
A small, clean, fairly plain restaurant serving great food. The staff arefriendly and efficient.Generous portions of food.Very reasonably priced.Great choice of menus.
The food is amazing. Salt and pepper prawns and wonton noodles soup are the best choice. The decorations and restaurant design are very nice as well. The staff is very kind. It was the perfect Night out dinner before going to watch a russian ballet at the theatre.
Visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night. Chinatown as a whole was very quiet and all the restaurants seemed to be empty (this was around 7pm) - the North Garden being the only exception. The restaurant was so busy that the only available table for our party of two (my sister and myself) was the large table at the back, which we shared with some other diners. We ordered from the "authentic Cantonese" menu, which can be found at the back of the a la carte menu - steamed seabass with ginger and spring onion, braised aubergines hotpot with pork and salted fish, and stir fried gailan with garlic. The food was delicious and served relatively quickly. Definitely nothing fancy or pretentious about the place, but a good place to go if you want to try some traditional home-style Cantonese food.
Went with 8 other people for a birthday meal.Had the set meal b which was very nice - had one vegetarian in the group so swapped one meal for a vegetarian alternative and swapped some of the rice for plain fried rice no problem.Only issue was when starters arrived no spring rolls where vegetarian so asked if could have a veggie spring roll. The lady was quite abrupt about this but did swap one - literally by taking away one of the existing ones brought out instead of just providing an extra one.God knows what they where planning on doing with one random spring roll in the back . Overall was a very nice meal, plenty of food just strange that they would be petty enough to take away a spring roll to replace one with a vegetable one. Also set meal was suppose to include Chinese tea but that never arrived but we where not that bother about that.
We tried a few dishes from the more adventurous side of the menu - between us we had a delicious beef hotpot, ( with a delicious taste of star anise ) mixed green veg and prawns on noodles , ribs, sesame
The tofu dishes and salt and pepper squid/calamari are my favourite. Definitely give this place a go. I went with my friends and we all had a great time and enjoyed all the fresh food.
We ordered soups to start: wonton, hot and sour, and beef scrambled egg soup. All were delicious. There were lots of dumplings in the wonton soup. The hot and sour soup was just hot enough and packed
Finally we had garlic chili pork, squid and baby bok choy and ginger, and the American safe favorite: sweet and sour chicken! The main dishes were savory, filled with meat, squid, and vegetables, and
We could not fault the food, the best crispy beef we have ever had. Friendly staff and good atmosphere to complete the package. Definatly recommend.
Asked for swap of sweet and sour chicken for black bean sauce. Absolutely delicious. If you tell them what you would like it is far better.
Chicken sweetcorn soup was tasteless even after extra salt&pepper, the hot & sour soup was passable. The mains however were both dreadful.Beef with garlic & chilli was really poor and I could still be
Excellent crispy duck with pancakes and very tasty Sui Mai. Good selection of mains. I particularly enjoyed the stuffed chillies and the sweet and sour king prawn. Good value for money. We will definitely
Excellent beef in oyster sauce and crispy shredded beef. Good value, however, cash only!!!
Recommend the salt and pepper squid and the dimsum.
The Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken was the best I've had! Crispy and tender! If your in town get yourself in!!!! You will not be disappointed!
The staff were very friendly and our grandson thoroughly enjoyed his Siu mai, spring rolls, Crispy Duck, and Chicken, noodles and rice. The Salt and Peper squid was also very tasty.
The food is consistently good, the salt and pepper squid might be the best thing I've ever tasted.
Soup, spare ribs, crispy duck pancakes and pork dumplings to start and then 4 main dishes and a huge dish of special rice. We were far too full when it got to the mains but we didn't care as the starters
Both food and service are always at its best, the hot and sour soup is absolutely delicious. This is the best family run restaurant in china town.
