We saw the advert on the Hotel’s Facebook page. We decided to treat ourselves this weekend as we were staying at the hotel for a friend’s wedding. I was a little bit gutted when I saw it was only on for the weekend...£50 for a massive tomahawk steak, rack of ribs, two sides and 2 glasses of house wine. A really nice touch with the executive chef coming out to carve the steak and ribs in front of us. I was impressed with service from staff. As expected from a 4 star hotel restaurant.
Ate dinner here with a large group of ladies (30) and the food was excellent. Staff were efficient and attentive.
Three of us Stopped by for a lunch, we all ordered open sandwiches, then coffees, the salads were fine, acceptable, but nothing outstanding and certainly not Michelin star standard. Its when we came to pay the bill that we all were shocked. £17.60 for an open sandwich and a coffee. We could have had two courses in a really good restaurant like Baloo House three miles down the road.It was a rip off.
We visited The Mill as part of an overnight package. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious but our visit was spoiled by a few things.Firstly, the tables are very close together and they cram everyone into the same area of the restaurant. It wasn't too busy when we were there and yet we were sat in between 2 other couples and could hear every word of their conversations. There was no privacy whatsoever.Secondly, despite the staff being friendly they seemed to disappear when you needed them! We had to ask about our drinks twice, ask for the dessert menu twice and eventually got up and left without ordering a dessert (after waiting about 20 minutes), despite having paid for a 2 course meal. I also left my cocktail untouched as it was not made correctly and undrinkable - and it cost £7.It's a shame about this restaurant as the staff were so nice and the food really was delicious but our experience was such a let down. We were planning on booking another overnight stay later in the year but we've decided agaist it, we really don't fancy paying for more things we don't receive!
What a beautiful meal in La Mon Hotel restaurant while the grand piano was being played! We all thought the menu was super with great choice-all food that sounded interesting and appetising. Staff very pleasant and efficient and happy to accommodate any requirements. Had three courses each and all were delicious! We agreed that we will definitely return soon!
My fiance had strawberry Eton mess cheesecake. I tasted it and it was off. It was a horrible experience and to top it off there were rats just outside the restaurant. As it's out in the country I suppose
For dessert I ate the cheese cake and my colleague had the ice sundae, again these desserts were excellent. Service was excellent, with no issues.
We had fish and chips which was just divine. Banoffee pie gorgeous. The kids meals where excellent and large portions all round.
Lovely soup, roast dinner & cheese cake. I'm going to come back for a meal I enjoyed it so much. Well done to the chef & kitchen staff ☺
I recently dined here on a Thursday lunch time with ladies from work we all had fish and chips with mushy peas and tarter sauce everything was lovely service was great will return soon!
Then it was back into the sun to sit outside with a jug of Pimms before a delicious afternoon tea - smoked salmon, ham, egg sandwiches, the softest mini scones I`ve ever had and delightful little individual
The Ceasear Salad with Chicken - so good, I had the same starter both times! Excellent Food, Excellent Service - No Complaints at all!
We had a starter of chowder, melons and soup in our group, followed by a chicken club sandwich, cock and bull, prawn open sandwich and chicken goujons. We all had 2 courses and a glass if wine for £14.50.
