now this i call my local as i go as often as i can for sunday lunch cant fault it in any way for food service and value.see you soon.
We took my sister and her husband as part of her 70th birthday celebration. We were all so impressed by the food and service we received
Myself and my family visited for Sunday lunch. Can’t fault! Excellent service, excellent food, excellent place!
lovely location with beautiful gardens. came with my friend for afternoon tea. very accommodating and helpful, friendly staff. I requested a gluten and dairy free meal (make sure this is requested at time of booking as it is cooked fresh to order) which was superb and well catered for my needs. I felt my dietary requirements were well met and I did not miss out on the beautiful cakes and scones which were freshly baked and still warm. I will certainly be back to try other food from the menu.
My wife and I have been for dinner once before and were very impressed by the welcome...the food (wow) and the overall experience was superb..so we decided to have a family Sunday lunch for initially 8 then changed to 9 which was not a problem. As catering for a large party normally disappoints but not for this restaurant from the phone booking the service was second to none and the lunch was out of this world and the portion size beat me...starter and main £18 or £15 for senior citizens ..I had the ham hock which melted in the mouth then a little appetizer which was a little soup which was free then the main course I opted for the pork and I must say it was fantastic...my wife who is gluten free there were specially made Yorkshire puddings and nothing at all was too.much trouble. This place needs to be full every week with a waiting list! I will be going again. If I can get a table.Keep up the good work
All 4 of us had the roast beef which came with a good range of vegetables. Whilst we would have chosen chicken, surprisingly it wasn't on the menu. However, we all enjoyed the roast beef dinner,
The first notable feature of the evening was when I asked about an alternative fish option to battered fish with chips, I was offered a sizeable piece of haddock breaded or poached, I selected poaching
The food was amazing, have to say the mushroom risotto was the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a fair few risottos.. only wish I had it for main instead of starter so I could of had more of it ! for
Our meals were chicken roulade and ham hock terrine, both were delicious (we shared) we both ordered the beef dinner which was second to none. I always feel the vegetables are a little of an afterthought
For our main courses my Husband enjoyed the roast beef and I the steak & ale pie. The desserts all looked amazing, I could have eaten them all but opted for the tantalising lemon brûlée. Tea and coffee
For starters we opted for the mushroom risotto and ham hock terrine. Both were delicious and presented well. For mains we chose the confit duck and pork belly. Again these were both delicious and
This week's Creme Brulee was delightful with shortbread and raspberry sorbet. All in all the Ox Pasture is a real secret haven tucked away in the woods at Raincliffe. I would highly recommend a visit
The roast beef was very red and tough so we could it eat it Yorkshire puddings were cold roast potatoes hard and dry the whole meal was terrible even when we were offered roast pork it wasn't nice cost
We had the seniors lunch at £8.50 for a main - everything is prepared fresh and it arrived on a very large plate, not a stoke up just excellent food, beautifully presented and in this case the finest
They have a small weekday lunchtime menu, from which we chose a fish and chips and mushroom pasta. Both were excellent. Fish melted in your mouth and the filled pasta was very tasty - beautifully cooked
Unfortunately there was a mix up on the desert which meant my creme brulee was topped with burnt salt rather than sugar. This was put right very quickly and efficiently with obvious apologies. Although
We were quite surprised when we were brought an appetizer course which was really tasty parsnip soup and as my wife was having that as a starter, they gave her a chicken roulade. We ate a full 3 courses
The bread was good, My wife had wild mushroom risotto with parmesan flakes, the lady on the next table asked for the same without the parmesan and was told that it came together and could not be separated,
