You can't say more really! Its a good place to eat and should be open more often. For a prix fixe meal this was great value but more importantly the food was tasty and well presented. The trainee staff tried hard to please. In all it was a great experience And there is a view so you could be in New York not Newcastle!
Taken by my ex-wife and her current husband (strange but true) as a thank-you luncheon for various past favours.Civilised welcome, fantastic view and pleasant surroundings. After friendly banter with the young, eager trainee front-of-house staff (who would NOT be out of place in a full-time employment), orders were promptly and accurately taken and soon delivered. The food; who cares about the nuts and bolts of the actual ingredients, was as excellent as we had expected and served with due diligence and expertise. My only sorrow is that I am unable the attend their 5 course (Cajun? ) extravaganza on possibly the 16th January 2019.Heartily recommended and about time that the UK was opting to properly train chefs and serving staff which in other countries is a regarded more of a profession than just employment.
Decided to have a quiet lunch in a Friday and try the Fish&Chips! We had been there before and had a really good first impression. Second time around, it was even better. Lovely fish in an excellent crispy batter with delicious chunky chips fried so well. We all four had the fish & chips and could not recommend this dish more! The service was flawless, considering that most people in service are students, very attentive, friendly and cordial. We finished with a choice of desserts including the table of cheeses, which we enjoyed very much.Strongly recommended for any day of the week as it is one of the best value for money in town but Fridays are our days of choice. Easy to book, and can even collect loyalty points! Let's keep going and support our students. Parking is also is not an issue, as there plenty of car spaces. It is also easy to access from the Rail Station metro line!

A most excellent evening.....fine dining at Newcastle College’s training restaurant.“Fur and Feathers” was a 5 course set menu featuring local game. The starter was celeriac, pheasant and chestnut soup and was absolutely knockout.....the flavours were balanced. This was followed by wood pigeon breast with white onion purée.As a palette freshener we we next served with apple and blackberry sorbet with compound gin. A lovely twist on a local favourite. We learned from the trainee sommelier that compound gin was in fact vodka blended with botanicals.Every day a school day! The main course was venison with a chocolate sauce, beetroot jellies, parsnip and butternut squash purée.Delicious.The parsnips were thin and crispy and the quality of the venison was better than the finest fillet steak I have ever had.At £25 per head this was very good value for the quality of the evening’s fare.
We had a fabulous night at the Chef's Academy last night where the food was outstanding and the waiting staff were really pleasant and helpful. The Taste of the Sea meal started off with Lindisfarne oysters done three ways whichset the meal off to an excellent start. It was followed by local smoked haddock and air dried cumbrian ham croquettes which were served piping hot with leeks, curry spices and granny smith apple. The apple and blackberry sorbet with compound gin was delicious and cleared the palate for the pan-fried sea bass on fennel puree, baby globe artichokes with red wine and wild mushrooms which was also served piping hot.It was followed by raspberry Eton Mess. The chef with his team, the restaurant manager and his team should be congratulated.and we certainly look forward to future meals there.

Had to top it off with a sticky toffee pudding, with a salt butter caramel sauce. Excellent Value for money.
