Great food, and those chipsgreat attentive staff and in a fantastic location, sitting outside feels like you could be on the continent especially when the sun shines like it was today.
Popped in for a mid morning coffee with a pal on a day out in Durham. Loved the décor, especially the astro turf on the walls studded with flowers. A very relaxing atmosphere with quiet music in the background. We returned for lunchand I had a very tasty poached eggs on toast from the all day breakfast menu. Staff friendly but not obtrusive.
A good find on a freezing Bank Holiday Sunday morning for hot drinks, a teacake, and an excellent bacon sandwich in a "stottie bun" (not being from the area, we had to look this one up!)Not too busy, and service was very quick, professional, and friendly. We always like to support independent businesses when we can (being one ourselves) and were glad we picked this one.
With the amount of choice you have in Durham you can’t afford to be bad, luckily this place is one of the better ones, greeted nicely when we arrived they have a laid back attitude allowing people to take there time to decide what you want. The service is great even when busy and you always feel looked after. We only popped in for a quick lunch but the food was fantastic although we were warned it would take some time to arrive. Cost was about average for Durham but I feel I got value for money.
Ate here for a quick brunch / lunch on Sunday it was rather busy inside but we were seated straight away and given menus. The tables are quite small and close together but this wasn’t a problem for us. I went for the prawn cocktail sandwich with potato skins and it was amazing highly recommended and all the other food looked great too. Big selection of fresh cakes we didn’t have any but they looked fabulous. Would definitely return.
All very good, a particular shout out for the hot chocolate, which is delicious and tasted like it was made with real chocolate! Staff very nice and good service. highly recommended.
Stopped in for lunch, lovely soup, paninis and an excellent club sandwich (huge!). Also, Fentiman’s drinks (always a winner). Busy, but lovely environment and splendid service. Great choice for lunch.
Lovely place for a good hot chocolate, coffee and cake with a friend. I have also been there for a pot of tea and worked during the afternoon and was a good place to concentrate.
Table empty but with no chairs we asked a waitress for two chairs and she immediately came with them.We both ordered the club sandwich which came with chips and salad. sandwich was full of chicken, bacon
Had a delicious beef sandwich with fries washed down with a refreshing peroni. Service very good with friendly staff.
Not so today I ordered a hot beef sandwich and hot chocolate. My husband was advised there was no beef or hot chocolate as they were waiting for a delivery. I ordered a toasted tea cake and tea the
Loved it with white chocolate hot chocolate. I loved the service and excellent quality teacake.
If you're feeling peckish, they have a wide selection of paninis and sandwiches which come with a little pile of potato skins, sometimes a bit on the greasy side, but nice touch all the same. They have
Potato skins cold, no sauces offered by waitress. I expected better food and service from a nice well presented establishment. Will not return.
My hot beef sandwich took the form of a brioche bun with plenty of meat, gravy, a salad garnish and some hand cut jenga chips. All the other meals were good too, as was the coffee. This is a cash only
Ice cream parlour sundaes are amazing and portions are big. Staff are really helpful and service is fast. Despite this, food can be a bit pricey.
The food was fresh and tasty - the potato skins went down a treat on a cold day. The venue has a laid back bistro feel, but the service is prompt if you are in a rush. Great place for a quick bite or
I had the chapater club sandwich which was very nice. The service was a little slow.
I just asked for a vanilla and chocolate ice cream sundae with cream, chocolate sauce etc and got exactly what I wanted. Brilliant! The juke box was belting out 50s rock n roll numbers VERY loudly which
Was pleasantly surprised with the pricing and value for money, I tried an ice cream sundae and expected to pay a lot more than I did. I tried something called “Monkey Junk” (I think don’t quote me on
