Food was great, brilliant concept and would have considered returning for this, however the staff are rude and make you feel uncomfortable. I’m all for having a laugh but they make it at your expense. Not happy
Hidden gem! Really enjoyed both courses of food. Excellent portions and tasted amazing. All mentors should be proud what you have achieved with the past and present students.
I came here after reading many good reports on tripadvisor. My expectation was a slick restaurant of future would be Michelin star chefs and impeccable service. Unfortunately the reality is far removed from this. The food is very good but the only reason I came was to sample the tasting menu, which at £27.50 appears to be a serious bargain.Unfortunately due to the kitchen being short staffed it wasn’t on. The standard menu was very nice but not outstanding. The staff are all very polite and do their best but you are left with a bit of an awkward feeling as you get the impression very few people know exactly what to do and aren’t comfortable doing it. I guess that’s what the place is all about in giving youngsters an opportunity to be in a restaurant environment but as the restaurant is open on a regular basis during term time I thought it would be better. The restaurant is part of the college and can be difficult to find of an evening. Bouncers at a nearby establishment had no idea when I asked for directions so make sure you study the map how to get here. The restaurant unfortunately is a very typical college room. The tables are dressed but the room is very bright; a few dimmers and up lighters would help try and make it look more like a restaurant. They do have a licensed bar and drink prices are very reasonable. Nice people doing their best but without a really special dish it doesn’t make you want to rush back it is however good food at a reasonable price.
What a gem - great food and the service is discreet but exceĺlent. Menu varied and VERY reasonably priced.Only criticism is the lighting - very bright.
We visited this restaurant for the first time and were astounded by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. The young people serving were professional, friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing and the addition of an amuse bouche was a lovely surprise. The whole evening was competitively priced and well worth it.Please go along and support these young boys and girls who are learning their trade and achieving a very high standard.
Then for dessert we had a banana soufflé, caramel sauce and coconut ice cream. 8.5/10 in general
This was followed by 2x roast lamb with all the trimmings, salmon salad, and a mouth watering mushroom and asparagus risotto. There was hardly room for desert, but we managed 2x rhubarb crumble and custard,
Eggs Florentine - Lovely Lamb - beautiful Apple Crumble Soufflé - Delughtful, Brilliant, Fantastic. Yummy The staff are all learning their trade and they serve with enthusiasm and are engaging, it
The desserts were a trio of warm chocolate cake with raspberry velvety icecream & a gorgeous creme vanilla with caramelised topping all very beautifully presented. The decor is modern & the boss Mr Christopher
We had mushroom risotto for starters which were fried balls. My partner had guinea fowl & he enjoyed that & I had a vegetarian biryani again very good. The desserts were a trio of warm chocolate cake
The food was of a high standard with my pudding of chocolate cake and crème brûlée being the highlight. Overall, this restaurant represents great value WITHOUT the tastecard discount - with it, I would
Braised beef for the main, which was heavenly!!! It was so succulent & went so well with the mash, cabbage side & deep flavoured gravy. And think for dessert the top winner was the butterscotch pudding
